Just a girl, obsessed with the written word. Other obsessions include but are not limited to: interior design, podcasts, typography, melodramatic movies and a glass of buttery chardonnay (I know, I know.) I am drawn to the moody and the idyllic and I feel like my hopeless romantic nature really lends itself to creating meaningful wedding paper for my couples. I was born and raised in Costa Mesa, California where I still reside and am raising my most spirited daughter with the love of my life. I have a background in events & hospitality and earned my special little piece of paper at Interior Designer’s Institute. I stumbled into the wedding industry while designing my own wedding invitations and signage nearly a decade ago and have spent every waking moment since practicing calligraphy, teaching myself graphic design, and business. I am the human you’ll be communicating directly with during your booking and design process!

The Studio

Paper Cliché is female owned and operated out of a small but mighty creative studio in Costa Mesa, California. We delicately assemble each and every suite so that we have complete control over the quality of each piece. All calligraphy and design is also completed in house by yours truly! Our handmade paper is pressed individually by artisans and each paper is completely unique. Letterpress printing is outsourced to our trusted partner located locally in Irvine, California. When you shop Paper Cliché, you are supporting multiple small local businesses and that is neat!

how it all started…

Danielle fondly recalls pressing flowers into handmade paper with her grandmother as a child, obsessing over different handwriting techniques in grade school and eventually sign-making and creating invitations for all of her friends and family in her 20’s while attending Interior Design school.

Paper Cliché was then born out of a curiosity turned passion as Danielle accidentally stumbled into the wedding industry back in 2015. She spent every spare minute teaching herself lettering, calligraphy, graphic design and marketing.

All of these things, as well as the experience of helping hundreds of couples over nearly a decade, came together to form what Paper Cliché is today. Your favorite boutique stationer based in Costa Mesa, California serving couples worldwide. Fine art calligraphy and the love of paper continues to be the heart of the business but Danielle sparks much joy creating an elevated customer experience for both the couple and their guests.
