Amanda + Cory's Moody Winter Wedding Inspiration
My dear friends were one of the many couples that had postpone due to the Quar. I was lucky enough to get to work with them closely as their plans evolved over about a two year period! Two Save the Dates, one teeny tiny backyard ceremony, a rehearsal dinner and the real deal exactly one year later.
This sign was very fitting for the teeny tiny backyard ceremony partly because of a global pandemic. But also partly because Amanda and Cory were together for a decade before they had started planning the first wedding so it just really worked for them :)
Amanda has a set of parents that are nothing less than magical and are exemplary of what a loving marriage can be. She did a first look with her dad and I literally had to remove myself from the scene to avoid crying all of my mascara off.
Her dad also built this whimsical ceremony arch! It performed double duty outside for the ceremony and inside behind the sweetheart table for the reception.
I got to design so many fun pieces for them over the planning process and one of these even lives on as a tattoo! I think that puts me at 3 tattoo designs now which for some reason really elates me.
I created a sweetheart table banner to drape over the front and pull the deep maroon through the space. The Harper in Costa Mesa was a perfect backdrop for their moody, rustic aesthetic.
Bridesmaids in black is always preferred in my book, especially when you get to choose your own dress that you might even be able to wear again. The bridal suite is so cute at the Harper and the champagne was flowing! Pretty sure I was over served but that is a story for another day.
We went for a modern, minimalist seating chart that was printed directly on this pretty lil’ piece of birch in the foyer.
Studio C Florals knocked it out of the park per usual with the prettiest moody flower arrangements and bouquets.
All in all, I think they would say it was all worth the wait and even created more space for extra memories!! Love this couple with all my heart and am still so honored I got to work with them on such special pieces!
